Theyr Ltd., which specializes in maritime and wind energy, released its Digital Precision Weather and Ocean Forecasting app: GRIBview mobile. Thanks to an advanced weather modeling, the app delivers a level of weather and ocean forecasting accuracy that’s new to the mobile market.
GRIBview by Theyr provides clients for free with high resolution weather forecasts built on high-precision data from 10km down to 1km resolution on an hourly time step, global forecast data for a highly compressed and efficient overview of the oncoming weather, access to granular and detailed forecast accuracy, download functionality and offline charts for further offline use. The premium weather data package can include wind speed, barometric pressure, precipitation, air temperature, sea surface temperature, and significant wave height, period and direction.
Theyr provides data to many of the world’s best-known maritime organizations, companies and brands from successful Olympic sailing teams and Americas Cup teams to big commercial names in the industry. “By supplying forecast information on such a refined scale, we provide the mariner with the best possible understanding of future weather and ocean events” Managing Director David Young stated.
Theyr forecasts already are built into some systems available from B&G, Fugawi, Lowrance, Raymarine, Simrad and Transas. The GRIBview app is designed to be used via Apple iPads.
