Ferretti_custom-line-108-yachtFerretti Custom Line 108’, a forward-thinking and contemporary sea-life concept maxi yacht, has been launched this summer and is making her world debut at this autumn main yacht shows, Cannes’s and Monaco’s.
The 108’s is heir to one of the most successful crafts built by Custom Line – a brand specializing in the production of fiberglass yachts between 28 and 38 meters in length- and she is the outcome of the cooperation between Ferretti Group‘s Engineering Department and Studio Zuccon International Project.
The newly launched Custom Line 108 is characterised by larger interior volumes, with an LOA of 32.95 metres and a beam of 7.25 metre, gaining one square metre more on the main deck and the flybridge than the Custom Line 100.
Its profile is dominated by the design of the superstructure and the glazing, whose visual impact is further enhanced by the glazed surface at the height of the raised pilot station. The design of the hull’s aft area has been harmonized with that of the flybridge tail. The Custom Line 108’ also stands out for the style of its interiors, which embody a noble luxury, made up of elegant finishes and original décor contrasts.
The real innovation is the Dual Mode Transom (DMT) system, patented by AYT&D – Advanced Yacht Technology & Design in collaboration with Centro Stile Srl and Besenzoni Spa: this enables the aft transom doors to be opened upwards and downwards and creates a float-in garage fitting a five metre tender and jet ski, with a 15 square metre beach club.
Elsewhere, the new 108 is marked by large amounts of glazing, notably in the master suite, giving panoramic views and increasing natural light. Moreover, Ferretti’s interior design team have put a lot into the lighting, with LED spotlights specially designed for this model built into all ceiling panels and backlit edges to all the furniture in the main rooms. The lighting and curtains controls have been developed in cooperation with PLH Italia designers, a young company that has designed and Custom Line-branded its ‘Slim’ steel-plated plates line specifically for this yacht.
The Custom Line 108’ comes with two MTU 16V 2000 M94, 2638 mhp engines that allow it to reach a maximum speed of 26 knots and a cruising speed of 23 knots, ensuring a range of 350 and 430 nautical miles, respectively. The yacht also ensures a limited consumption: its range at the economic cruising speed of 12 knots can indeed reach 1,000 nautical miles.
