Shaddai, a powerful superyacht concept to watch the sea from above

shaddaiShaddai is a Hebrew word meaning ‘almighty’: this the feeling owners of the homonymous 492-feet yacht concept by Gabriele Teruzzi would experience on top of her elevated master suite.
The Italian designer has created an original concept taking superyachts to new heights: a towering perch 125 feet high contains the master suite, from where owners and guests would enjoy stunning views of the surroundings.
The key element of the concept, the elevated cabin, features a 1,130 square foot terrace, giving the owner a sense of power in complete privacy, and offering a bar, dining area and an infinity pool with a glass wall.
The designer so described the feeling his concept wishes to convey: ‘From there he can reach the feeling of a higher power, surrounded by the immensity of the sea and sky, reaching the clouds where everything reflects his place in the world: at the top. Furthermore, the infinity pool produces a visual effect of water with no boundary, merging with the sky.’
Closer to sea level, the main aft deck, where guests relax on sunloungers, is filled with the sound of water falling from an infinity pool on the upper deck. The 3,000-square foot beach club features an aquarium in the middle of the room and a glass ceiling that looks up into a swimming pool.

Students, Composites and Performance

Vaber worked with Politecnico di Torino to train engineering students who, between lectures and exams, design and build racing boats and single-seaters: materials, method and applied know-how at the core. They learnt when the process makes the difference – even beyond the university workshop – with Plexus structural adhesives, spray tack and infusion consumables, key elements in composite materials engineering.
