Riva 50M, Riva’s first 50-metre superyacht is currently being built at the yard’s facilities in Ancona. The Riva Superyachts series, unveiled for the first time at the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show, will range up to 90 metres in length. The model under construction will become Riva’s flagship once launched next year.
The four-deck Riva 50M has been developed in collaboration with Officina Italian Design. Mauro Micheli, co-founder of Officina Italian Design, so commented on the design of the superyacht range to come: “The first line will clearly draw inspiration from the yachts created by Carlo Riva in the early 1970s; the second will feature an unusual design, with stylistic features that will clearly convey Riva’s unmistakable style, together with a strong, distinctive character.”
The superyacht takes in fact her inspiration from Carlo Riva’s motor yachts, in particular from the Caravelle line (1960s and 70s). In those years, Carlo Riva created four superyacht ranges called Caravelle, Marco Polo, Vespucci and Atlantic. The Riva 50M is a perfectly balances modern classic.
Riva 50M will comfortably accommodate up to 12 guests across five cabins, including a master suite located on the main deck. Among the amenities on board, a Jacuzzi will be found on the sundeck, a stern garage will feature enough space to house a Williams Dieseljet 625 tender, and a foredeck storage area will provide room for a pair of Jet Skis. The galley will be son the lower deck, with a central dumb waiter allowing for discreet service to all four decks.
Built in light aluminium alloy, the Riva 50M will be offered as a semi-custom yacht, with a fully customisable interior design. Ferretti Group’s CEO, Alberto Galassi said: “Not only [does the Riva Superyacht Division] represent an extraordinary leap into the future, but also Riva will once more be able to meet the refined and sophisticated taste of its very demanding owners.”
