Amels Full Custom unveiled a new 111-metre superyacht concept, Pollux, featuring exterior design by H2 Yacht Design and layout and in-house naval architecture. Pollux was displayed as a scale model at the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show.
The large volume 4,750 Gross Tonnage design covers seven decks. For the project, the Amels Design team has developed a technically feasible platform, foreseen as a Passenger Yacht Code (PYC) compliant platform.
Jonny Horsfield, Director H2 Yacht Design: “Our ambition was a design that drew on the Amels dna and heritage, but didn’t simply reproduce existing details. We have looked forward to the future design direction of the Amels fleet, whilst maintaining a timeless look that captures the pinnacle of Amels yacht building.”
H2 Yacht Design carefully proportioned the design of Pollux to allow for the large aft decks and the large swimming pool on Main Deck. Long sweeping lines are highlighted in the sophisticated tonal paint scheme with metallic silver and jet black gloss superstructure with high-polish stainless steel grill and cloud white hull. Sharp surfacing and edges play with light. The upper aft decks appear to float, adding lightness to the visual weight of the design.
Hans Konings, Amels Design Manager: “Our top team of yacht building experts has long experience collaborating with world-renowned designers and architects. We have a deep understanding of shipbuilding and our strong connections with classification societies and flag states. However you imagine your Amels Full Custom yacht, you can be sure of the most advanced design and engineering with the absolute highest Amels quality.”
From the Sun Deck pool forward to the large firepit outdoor lounge on Sun Deck aft, Pollux’s 20 guests can enjoy panoramic sea vistas. The 47 crew plus Captain can discretely access all parts of the vessel, providing the very highest levels of service, entertainment and hospitality.
