Wally Yachts has recently presented Private GG, the fifth unit of the 27 Wallyace range. Private GG is claimed to be the first displacement motor yacht in her size range offering more than 160 square metres of living space inside with exceptionally tall headroom, and 130 square metres of space outside over two decks.
The 27 Wallyace features an innovative layout arrangement, where the owners/VIP quarters are located aft, with sliding glass doors giving access to the aft platform, the so-called Terrace-on-the-sea reflecting Wally inside-outside concept to have living areas inside that extend outside and vice versa. Such innovative layout arrangement was featured for the first time by the sailing superyacht Tiketitan in 1998.
The latest 27 Wallyace unit reflects this guideline even further with the full beam aft owners’ suite: a 33-square-metre private area opening onto the Terrace-on-the-sea and giving direct access to the sea.
The inside-out approach runs throughout the yacht: another feature introduced by Wally is the loft-style living area completely surrounded by glass offering a 360-degree view. “With Private GG we have upgraded the 27 Wallyace introducing larger unobstructed windows of the superstructure to enhance the inside-outside living experience,” said Luca Bassani, Wally President.
The accommodation is for seven guests in three cabins (aft owner’s suite, guest double cabin, guest twin cabin with pullman bed) and four crew. Outside, the innovation is in the 60-sqm top sundeck over the superstrucure that is equipped with a windshield in the forward end, to shelter the sun lounge and enjoy the area even in windy conditions.
Private GG marks also an important first for the Monegasque brand: the collaboration with Alberto Pinto Interior Design. The renowned studio was commissioned by the client to develop a bespoke version of the displacement model. “The cooperation with Pinto design firm brings new ideas into the styling of this successful project,” explained Bassani.
“We are very pleased to have closely worked with Wally who has a strong identity – declared Linda Pinto, managing director of the Paris-based studio “We partnered with the Monegasque design team to find the best solutions improving the project.”
“Respecting Wally’s approach to aesthetics, the client asked for a light and bright design where the magic words are personalization, sobriety, purity of the lines with accents on the details to create a chic, sporty and relaxed atmosphere” explains the team of Pinto studio. “In collaboration with Wally, we took a fresh look at the general layout and the material selection. The position of the stairway leading to the night accommodation was moved to the starboard side of the yacht to free up space in the living area.”
“To produce a luxurious yet simple atmosphere reflecting the Wally style we limited the variety of materials and focused on a few noble ones, such as the white satin lacquer and a grey bleached oak to provide the effect of purity and elegance. In the living area, we opted for a soft and comfortable ivory fabric. We used red lacquer inside the cabinets and chrome details throughout the boat. For the wheelhouse which requires darkness to counter-effect the bright reflections of the water, we selected Makassar ebony and dark brown leather.”
The propulsion system is characterised by engines that run at low RPM offering many advantages such as reduced vibration and noise, low consumption, little maintenance, and long life. The quality of the cruising life is guaranteed by the gyroscopic stabiliser.
The garage housing the 5-metre tender is uniquely located amidships over the engine room with direct access to the crew and service area and separates the guest and crew quarters for maximum privacy.
Private GG is getting ready for the delivery to her owner, who is planning to extensively cruise throughout the Mediterranean.
