boat control systemThe Swedish company Zipwake presented at last METS exhibition the new E series of trim-control system, that in Italy is distributed, as the previous S series, by Saim Marine.
The new E series is suitable for semi-planing and planing boats from 60 to 100 meters. Responding immediatly to the commands, these new trim-control systems are designed to effectively diminish the boat rolling during the navigation, eliminate uncomfortable boat pitch, minimize wave resistance and saves fuel.

The new interceptor range is based on the great technology of S series, and includes three straight models of various lengths (600-800-1000mm), three tunnel with different bend radious (500-600-800) – for an installation on the tunnel over the screw – and two chine models (600mm), when the transom spaces are too small. Their blade rate and stroke are 40 mm/s and 60 mm respectively. That means great lift without delay and a decuple of control performance compared to a traditional trim tab. The modular design for a mass production assures also resistance and long duration.

The E series allows a manipulation of pitch control curve, of boat roll and yaw, thoughout an automatic or manual control of each interceptor’s couple lift. The functioning of an interceptor’s couple could be indipendent to compensate a possible extreme inclination of the boat during the turn and approach operations. The control system provided with the interceptors allows the captain to manage manually the balance of the boat, in a quick and easy way. The system operates in a complete automatic way, to ensure the dynamic elimination of boat pitch and roll, thanks to 3D gyro sensors and GPS integrated inside the panel control, considerably improving performance, comfort and safety of the boat.

The panel control provides continuously informations about speed, pitch curve and roll, interceptor’s position on a 2.8” sunlight- readable wide viewing color display. The panel’s waterproof design withstands harsh marine conditions in open boats or on a flybridge. It can be also connected to an external GPS and to a NMEA 2000 equipment. Easy to install, also in retrofit, all the interceptors are equipped with a complete kit for the assembly, with de distribution unit (DU-E) and the panel control.
