This year there will be three Benetti superyachts on show at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the world’s largest in-water event in the yachting industry.
Now in its 62nd year, the boat show taking place from October 27 to 31 has always been a key event for Benetti because of the brand’s high standing with American owners, the result of constant technological innovation combined with the tradition and the elegance of ‘Made in Italy’ products, making this a strategically important market.
Motopanfilo 37M
Making her first appearance in the USA, the new Motopanfilo 37M is the true star of the show, epitomising tradition projected into the future. A yacht built from composite materials and suspended in time, her design is rooted in Benetti navettas from the 1960s, which provide the inspiration for her gracious and refined elegance.
For her large, light-filled spaces in constant visual contact with the sea, Loro Piana Interiors has chosen classic fabrics for summer on the water, with the leading role played by linen in shades of white, blue and malachite, used to decorate the interiors entirely and part of the exteriors.
Also inspired by 1960s’ yachting tradition, the interiors by Lazzarini Pickering Architetti successfully marry that classic design approach with modern technical and style solutions.
The exterior lines by Francesco Struglia, in partnership with Benetti, successfully echo the vintage style of the period, joining hull and superstructure to create a single harmonious element that gives the clean-cut profile an elongated and austere form. All these and other features won the 37-meter yacht the Best Innovation category award at the World Yacht Trophies presented during the last Cannes Yachting Festival.
Oasis 40M
On show with the Motopanfilo 37M will be Rebeca, the first unit of the multiple-award winning Oasis 40M model, which successfully combines a dynamic and informal approach to life on board, in constant contact with the sea, with a chic and sophisticated style.
This yacht – which won the Best Layout and Best Displacement Motoryacht prizes in her size category at the World Superyacht Awards – is perfect for owners who want to explore new destinations, pampered by an informal sense of luxury.
With exterior styling by UK design firm RWD and interiors by New York-based Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture (winners of the Interior Designer – House & Residential award at the DNA Paris Awards 2021), Oasis 40M is the first yacht to feature the new OASIS DECK®, offering 90 square metres of openness just a few steps from the water.
Contact with the sea
The yacht’s stand-out features are wings that open out to increase the available space in contact with the water but sheltered from the waves, the magnificent swimming pool tailored to fit a free deck area close to both the water and the interiors, and the 270-degree view aft, also from the lounge.
The bridge of Oasis 40M is designed as a multifunctional space with full-height glazing and a futuristic helm station from which to enjoy the cruising experience to the full.
Alongside the two new fiberglass models, and making her first boat show appearance, is M/Y Bacchanal, a 47-meter custom yacht with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure.
The exterior styling developed by the shipyard is intentionally sleek and pared down. The interiors are a joint effort between Mauricio Gómez de Tuddo, the architect chosen by the Mexican owner for his second Benetti, and the Benetti Interior Style Department, who worked together to give the project an allure that is international but underpinned by a strong ‘Made in Italy’ imprint, given by a choice of brands that includes Minotti, Flexform, Giorgetti, Rimadesio, Poltrona Frau and Exteta.
Continuity of space, the guiding thread in the yacht’s development, is emphasised by the materials: the style of the exterior teak flooring is reprised in the interiors by the wengé wood parquet featuring special 60mm-wide boards in the main salon, the owner’s bathroom, the captain’s cabin and the Sky Lounge.
Also contributing to the boat’s sense of airiness is the Thassos marble in the guest cabin bathrooms: a white, almost crystalline material that covers the floor, walls and shower tray, creating an interesting contrast with the black granite chosen for the tops.
Benetti will be at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from October 27 to 31 in the Superyacht Village, 2150 SE 17th St, Tent #14
