Tecnomatic, founded in 1962 and acquired by Terranova Instruments in 2022, is dedicated to the design and manufacture of flow and temperature measurement devices, serving the Oil & Gas market, Onshore and Offshore platforms, chemical and petrochemical plants, aerospace industry, electrical and steel plants.

The long Italian tradition of process engineering positions Tecnomatic® as an ideal worldwide partner for the production of high-quality Venturi tubes. Tecnomatic®, offers not simply a product, but decades of specialized expertise and unwavering commitment to international quality standards. The ability to customize Venturi tubes to specific material requirements, sizes, or connection types ensures that each product is meticulously tailored to meet users’ needs.

The Venturi tube

The Venturi tube is a precision device for measuring flow rates in closed systems. It minimizes permanent pressure loss while providing consistent measurement accuracy, making it ideal for a wide range of industrial applications.

Through a constriction, known as a choke, the Venturi tube creates a pressure differential used to calculate flow rates with high accuracy. This process is facilitated by a calibrated differential pressure transmitter that ensures precise measurements regardless of fluid type.

Customization and material selection

Tecnomatic® offers extensive customization options, allowing clients to choose specific materials and configurations based on operating requirements. Options range from welded plates for large-diameter applications, forged materials for high-pressure environments, to solid-machined components for heavy-duty applications. This flexibility ensures that each Venturi tube is optimized for durability and reliability, even in complex or specialized industrial environments.

Application areas and industry standards

Tecnomatic®’s Venturi tubes are engineered according to ISO 5167 and ASME MFC-3M standards, making them reliable in critical sectors like Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, and Power Generation. Common applications include regulating water flow in power plants or measuring gas flow in refineries, where the device’s durability and precision are essential for operational efficiency.

Additional Features for enhanced performance

Beyond standard capabilities, Tecnomatic® Venturi tubes come with numerous customization options such as calibration choices, specialized pressure taps, and installation support. These features enhance performance, offering a robust and highly accurate flow measurement solution for industries that demand precision and reliability.

Yachting in Romania: a modernising market on the Black Sea

The Romanian boating industry is undergoing a gradual transformation, driven by investments in infrastructure, marina development and growing interest in recreational boating and sailing activities. While historically yachting in Romania was considered a niche sector with limited accessibility, the market is now evolving into one of the emerging areas of the Black Sea yachting industry.

A sector undergoing modernisation

Yachting in Romania, which is mainly concentrated around Constanta and other Black Sea resorts, is likely to grow in the future. At present, yachting is mainly seen as a sporting discipline, but the evolution of Nautical Tourism and the increasing interest in Yachting Romania suggest a broader development.
