The new route for organic waste: treated on board

Share:

SAEC Group offers innovative marine waste management solutions for reducing and treating food waste on board, designed for every sector: cruise ships and ferries, yachts and pleasure boats, merchant and cargo ships.

The CompoStyle® process treats food waste using a bioengineered degradation system based on natural thermophilic microorganisms. Unlike traditional composting, it does not require structuring agents and enables the management of 100% of incoming food waste, representing a major step forward in sustainable marine technology.

Main Benefits

EXCELLENT REDUCTION CAPACITY

Up to 90% of food waste is decomposed and reduced in weight and volume within 24/48 hours in Te-d® without texturisers. This ensures effective and efficient onboard waste treatment, ideal for vessels of any size.

ECONOMIC SAVINGS

With CompoStyle® technologies, operators benefit from a -90% reduction in food waste weight and volume, full MARPOL Annex V compliance, lower fuel consumption, and zero sterilisation and port disposal costs. These systems offer a long-term return on investment and lower operational impact.

COMFORT, SAFETY, AND DESIGN ON BOARD

The process does not generate odours, noise, or leachate thanks to the patented deodorisation and soundproofing system. For this reason, CompoStyle® devices can be safely installed indoors and are engineered with special anchors to resist rolling, pitching, and rough seas — combining eco-friendly shipboard equipment with refined design.

100% NATURAL AND BIODEGRADABLE WASTE WITH ZERO TRAVEL

The waste soil, Te-d®, is created directly on board: food waste is treated and reduced by 90% on the vessel itself. This means no landfill at ports, no trucks on the road, no storage, and no additional sterilisation. The result is a tangible reduction in CO₂ emissions and a circular return of organic matter to nature — a true innovation in sustainable waste management and green marine engineering.
