Following Kumbra Yachts’ first international appearance at the 2024 Cannes Yachting Festival, 15 units of its 34-foot model have already been sold and are now cruising – a remarkable achievement for a newcomer, especially considering that many shipyards have recently reported a slowdown in this market segment of luxury day boats and performance cruisers.
FOCUS ON THE SAILOR
The idea of launching a new yacht brand emerged 3 years ago, when a family of sailors based in Barcelona set out to bring their vision to life. The brand’s philosophy, “From sailors to sailors,” underscores a deep commitment to a customer-centric approach and reflects the values of the young, innovative team behind it.
“Our focus has always been on the sailor. The overall experience of owning and sailing a Kumbra must be simple and enjoyable – this is how loyalty to our brand is built. That’s why transparency is so important to us,” says Víctor Moure, founder and CEO of Kumbra Yachts, whose ambition is to position the company among the most interesting Mediterranean boat brands for a new generation of owners.

OPEN COMMUNICATION
Transparency isn’t just a marketing slogan – it’s a core principle the company lives by. Although the boats are built at a third-party yard in Almería, the brand has always communicated this openly and clearly. It’s a level of honesty that’s rare and undoubtedly appreciated by both customers and industry professionals alike.
Moure explains that the Kumbra 34 is intended as a second boat, for owners who already have some boating experience. The young CEO makes no secret of the brand’s ambition: to become the best option on the market in terms of quality for price within the growing segment of performance motorboats.
KUMBRA 34
The Kumbra 34 luxury day boat is the first model in a range that will soon be expanded with a 36-footer. Measuring 9.72 m in length and 3.5 m in beam, it embodies the company’s vision: creating boats that offer both elegance and performance.
Powered by twin engines, with available options ranging from 400 to 700 hp, the boat delivers impressive performance. It reaches top speeds of up to 42 knots, with a comfortable cruising speed between 25 and 28 knots. Its versatility makes it ideal for a range of boating styles – whether for spontaneous weekend escapes or extended voyages typical of a modern Mediterranean day cruiser.
A strong emphasis has been placed on optimising space aboard. Below deck, the Kumbra 34 features two cabins: a bow cabin with a convertible double bed, and a spacious aft cabin with twin beds – providing practical overnight comfort for up to four adults.
The deck is designed for open-air living, with generous sunbathing areas and a well-considered cockpit layout. The bow is conceived to maximise lounging space, while the cockpit is tailored for socialising. The result is a layout that feels intuitive and welcoming, equally suited to experienced boaters and newcomers.

DESIGN AND CRAFTSMANSHIP
The design of the Kumbra 34 is the result of in-house creativity, led by the boat’s designer Dani Miravalls. Notably, the carpentry is handcrafted by a local artisan using high-quality materials, ensuring a warm, tactile feel throughout the vessel. Víctor Moure worked closely with Miravalls to select materials that strike the right balance between visual impact, durability, and client expectations typical of a modern sport cruiser yacht.
Every decision – from early design to construction – is taken with care.
“I try to involve the whole team to optimize every key decision – from the designer to the modeller, to the engineer, to the people who will actually build the boat. I want to avoid working in silos: each choice we make affects what comes next, so collaboration is essential.”
Indeed, a boat is a delicate balance, a complex interplay of design, engineering, and craftsmanship. By encouraging dialogue between departments from the very beginning, potential issues can be anticipated and resolved early, ensuring smoother processes and better results.

DETAILS
The Kumbra 34 includes practical features such as a freshwater shower on deck, a deployable table and awning, and a U-shaped dining area that comfortably seats 6 to 8 people. In addition to the 2 cabins, a comfortable bathroom completes the interior. A compact galley with a sink and fridge enhances the vessel’s autonomy and livability.
The upholstery is made from a special material that stays cool under the sun and is easy to clean. When night falls, ambient LED lights on deck create a cozy atmosphere. The sound system includes four speakers, ensuring that the music on board is as enjoyable as the surroundings.
Storage is generous: 2 compartments in the aft sunpad, 4 in the dining area, 1 large storage space beneath the pilot station, and 6 additional compartments in the bow for fenders and gear.

A BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD
CEO Víctor Moure Rocasalbas has chosen a market differentiation strategy centred on modern, distinctive design with strong personality, reflecting the company’s customer-focused philosophy and the concept of ‘daring elegance’ as the hallmark of its boats.
Under his leadership, supported by a young team that reinforces the company’s vision, Kumbra Yachts has emerged as a modern and competitive choice in the market of luxury day boats, attracting a new generation of sailors seeking the best balance between performance and price.
