Girbau Boats G38 is a Girbau-designed boat with a strong Mediterranean soul inspired by the old Catalan llaüt – a traditional fishing boat from Catalonia and the Balearic Islands – with an eye on innovation, positioning itself in the segment of Luxury Motor Yacht craftsmanship and contemporary marine aesthetics.
Founded in 2008 by sea enthusiast and shipwright Ramon Girbau, the company was established with the aim of building handcrafted boats with a unique style. Located on the northern Costa Brava, near the inspiration of the Cap de Creus Natural Park, the Girbau shipyard is inspired by the classic shape of the Catalan llaüt, a traditional fishing boat from Catalonia and the Balearic Islands characterised by a strong, symmetrical wooden hull and a lateen sail, to offer modern, elegant and functional boats.
Direct and constant dialogue with customers
Every stage of construction is carried out in-house, from lamination to interior design: this allows absolute control over quality and the possibility of customisation, fully aligned with the philosophy of a Handcrafted Yacht Builder approach.
The dialogue with the customer is direct from design to after-sales, creating a relationship that goes beyond the simple supply of a product. The result is a tailor-made production capable of responding to the needs, lifestyles and requirements of each owner.
This approach also allows for the rapid introduction of technical improvements based on customers’ real experience, making each new unit subsequently produced even better.
A strategic position
The shipyard is located not far from the Cap de Creus Natural Park, which is a constant source of inspiration and stimulates environmentally conscious developments consistent with the landscape. This is why many finishes deliberately recall the tones of the Mediterranean coastline and favour materials with a low environmental impact.

The craftsmen of the Girbau team work with fine woods and marine steels, but also with advanced resins and new-generation synthetic materials that allow high quality aesthetic finishes and low maintenance. The range: style and versatility
Today the yard’s range consists of four main models: G28, G30 and G38.
The main feature of the G28 – thanks to the presence of a habitable cabin – is the possibility of mini-cruises. A version with hybrid propulsion is also planned for this vessel.
The G30, which was created with the idea of offering maximum space without exceeding 10 m (it is therefore configured as a vessel and no registration tax is due), guarantees a comfortable interior and modern aesthetics.
The G38 is the flagship in the production of this boat line; it is a more luxurious and fully configurable vessel, designed within the Luxury Motor Yacht segment for long stays on board.
All models, however, want to show off their strong Mediterranean identity and possess a design with soft lines, large sunbathing areas and functional solutions. Different materials, layouts, engines and technologies allow for a tailor-made construction of the boat on request.

G38: the essence of modern navigation
The G38, with 12.31 m in length in the XL platform version and a maximum beam of 3.69 m, is the flagship of the fleet and a benchmark in Mediterranean Yacht Design. She has a refined yet powerful silhouette and her design blends classic Mediterranean elegance with contemporary lines and high performance.
There are many possible deck configurations: the stern can accommodate curved benches that can be converted into a sundeck or dining area. The bow hosts an innovative sundeck designed to make the most of the interior spaces below. The side walkways, more than 20 cm wide, allow for ease of movement. The central cockpit houses a full galley, and the helm console is equipped with dual Garmin monitors, a Yanmar manoeuvring joystick and VC20 electronic controls. The technological equipment is completed by the Seakeeper 3 stabilising gyroscope, autopilot, Phantom radar, VHF and centralised home automation, all geared towards functionality and ergonomics.
Bespoke interiors
The G38 offers interiors designed for long cruises or exclusive weekends: two independent cabins ensure privacy – a double forward with wardrobes and drawers and a twin aft that can be converted into a double thanks to movable beds. The bathroom is large and equipped with a separate shower, and the toilet is electric. The central saloon features a dinette or sofa bed that can be converted into different configurations. The materials selected reflect the brand’s philosophy: wood, stainless steel, natural upholstery and adjustable lighting. The stowage compartments are numerous and well distributed.
Comfort and performance
The G38 is designed to offer a close sailing experience and contact with the sea: the hydraulic platform allows easy access to the water and the stowage of tenders. The Seakeeper gyro guarantees stability even in rough sea conditions. The range is up to 208 nautical miles when cruising thanks to two tanks with a capacity of 383 lt each. Comfort is also ensured by the air conditioning system, the intelligent lighting system, ergonomically optimised spaces, and care for acoustic insulation.
Lights, alarms and electrical systems are managed by a Garmin home automation system. The integration of instrumentation on multifunctional screens allows intuitive control even for the less experienced, and the rational layout of the systems reduces maintenance work.
