After the recent debate between the two national associations for the nautical industry, and the threat of lacking financing from the Ministry of the Economic Development for the next edition of the Genoa Boat Show, the Region of Liguria announced a 300’000 euro investment to the event, including direct payments, outfitting and promotion.
Edoardo Rixi, regional Councilor, commented: “To relaunch the sector is fundamental, especially for the leading Region in the industry, that is Liguria.”
The Region of Liguria as well will have its dedicated exhibition space at the 56th Genoa Boat Show (September 20-25). The pavilion has been renovated to feature modern technologies and multimedia tools, with the aim to attract visitors and to show them the beauty of the region and its sea through virtual journeys, videos and breath-taking images.
Meanwhile, the upcoming edition of the Show will boast 800 exhibitors and 1,000 vessels across an impressive 180’000 sqm exhibition space, 100’000 of which in the water. Many foreign shipyards are going to attend the main Italian boat show after several years’ absence. Revenue rose last year by 17.1% on the year to 2.9 billion euro after several years in crisis.
