In 2025, Opacmare celebrates its 30th year in business this year. A significant milestone for the company which, in these 3 decades of activity, has been able to distinguish itself on the international nautical scene with highly innovative and constantly evolving Made In Italy nautical products.
In addition, Opacmare has recently announced another important milestone: the acquisition of Pin-Craft S.r.l., a company renowned for its expertise and quality within the Italian marine engineering landscape.
Innovation and excellence in the nautical world
Innovation and excellence have always been at the heart of Opacmare’s mission. Founded in 1995 in Rivalta di Torino, the company has evolved and grown to become a major player worldwide. Today it works with major international shipyards to which it supplies cutting-edge yacht components and products covered by exclusive patents. Its catalogue boasts over 5,000 products alongside customised solutions.

Technologically Advanced Products
From the first steps and gangways in the 1990s, over the years Opacmare has developed a wide range of technologically advanced products, including transformers, ports and hatches, lifting systems, tenderlifts, doors and windows, balconies, multifunctional gangways, beach stepladders, seats, king stepladders. All designed with the latest marine technology to ensure durability and performance at sea.
An expanding company
In response to the constantly developing and evolving market, the company is making major investments for its own growth. It is currently finalising an expansion project, following the acquisition of a 4,000 sq.m plant located next to the Rivalta di Torino headquarters; this brings the company’s production sites to 5.
Such strategic investment will help further strengthen its production capacity – the company now employs more than 350 people – and maintain the high-quality standards that have always distinguished it. Another important aspect is the continued expansion of the R&D department, which now numbers 50 engineers and designers. This highly specialised team is increasingly involved in developing custom products for superyachts and gigayachts, confirming that the company is moving decisively from mass production to increasingly customised and technologically advanced products.

Platform with up&down movement
One of their top products is the S.A.F.E. platform, a patented system that transforms the stern of boats with outboards. It is a platform with an up&down movement that also integrates the functions of a platform and ladder for access from the water and from the dock. The system, available in an electro-hydraulic or electric version, is fully customisable to meet the specific needs of each boat. With a vision oriented towards innovation, the company continues to work to guarantee a unique experience for shipyards and owners and to contribute to the progress of the nautical sector, while keeping its roots firmly in the MadeInItaly nautica that has always distinguished its production.

The latest news
Opacmare’s constant commitment to product innovation and evolution is evident in its many recent innovations.
• S.A.F.E.’s latest model, the 5370, stands alongside its predecessors, of which it is significantly lighter at 52 kg.
• EVO STEP was renewed in look with model 5292: it is an automatic step system that replaces the traditional swim ladder. Available in electric and hydraulic versions, it is suitable for both outboard and small inboard boats and is applicable as a first installation and retrofit.
• Balcony 4206, available in both electric and hydraulic versions, is a balcony overturning system consisting in fastening plates on hull and flip wing overturning frame, all made of AISI 316L stainless steel. Movement is managed by a hydraulic linear actuator, while – to ensure safety – an electric actuator inside the movable wing blocks the structure when it is in the closed position. The supply also includes the hydraulic power unit, the electronic unit, the control panel and a complete hydraulic hose kit.

• A new 1162 aluminium telescopic gangway was designed, featuring a design inspired by the Viper line and complementing the existing aluminium models.
• Also new among doors and windows is the 2332C semi-automatic pantograph door: it has manual opening and an automatic locking system, thanks to four locking pins activated by electric actuators. Compared to the 2332 family, the C series’ structure has been lightened by around 10-15%, the sealing gaskets have been repositioned on the panel for a cleaner design and better water tightness, and stability handling has been improved.
• There are also accessories designed to improve comfort and functionality on board, such as the new customisable 6581 seat, which compared to the previous model (6591) has a wider seat and backrest, vertical stitching, lumbar support and reduced height. It is available in manual or automatic versions, for indoor and outdoor use, with or without armrests.

How did 2024 go for Opacmare?
The nautical market is very active at the moment, and we constantly receive many requests for supplies. Our customers are enthusiastic about our service and the high quality of the products we offer. Opacmare had a very successful year, both in terms of business results and targets achieved. In 2024 our group recorded a turnover of 53 million euros thanks to the expansion of our market share in accessories for megayachts and gigayachts.
Can you tell us about some of the main developments at Opacmare in recent months?
The product range has grown considerably thanks to the introduction of innovative products onto the market. Most of these products were presented during the 2024 boat shows, culminating with the METSTRADE in Amsterdam, where we were a huge success. Many of Opacmare’s flagship products, including S.A.F.E. and Evo Step, have been redesigned, improving their efficiency by making them more practical, lighter and with an innovative design that can be perfectly integrated into yachts. To date, S.A.F.E. is a product that has not yet achieved full success, but we are confident that as soon as its importance for boats with outboard engines is recognised, it will become a must-have for most customers. In addition, we introduced an aluminium gangway, an electric balcony, the new 2332C pantograph door combining modern design, engineering efficiency and superior performance, and many other products to our already extensive catalogue.
Are you observing any trends in the yachting market? What are customers asking for?
Indeed, orders for yachts over 25 m have increased significantly over the past year. Today, the new goal of yacht owners is to make the time spent between the boat and the sea completely unique and immersive by integrating more and more handling systems and immersive balconies.
Exports are growing, is there a specific country or region showing strong demand?
The main market for Opacmare remains Europe, and particularly Italy. In recent years, however, we have seen a growing demand and considerable interest from rapidly developing countries such as China, Japan, Taiwan and India. The American market is also growing, and this guarantees us significant future developments. What are the biggest challenges for 2025? Opacmare intends to strengthen its market position by focusing increasingly on customised production. This strategy focuses on the design and prototyping of new products specifically for yachts over 25 m, to meet the growing demand in the luxury yacht sector.
