MADS Srl, the official Italian partner of the renowned Swedish company Emotron, has initiated a strategic collaboration with Energy Italy to integrate Emotron Frequency Converter solutions and Revcon filters aboard megayachts. The goal of this partnership is to develop tailor-made solutions designed to meet the needs of the most demanding clients in the luxury yachting sector. With a highly customisable approach, MADS and Energy Italy ensure efficient, reliable electrical systems that meet the highest technological standards.

EMOTRON IP54 FREQUENCY CONVERTERS: EFFICIENCY AND RELIABILITY

The Emotron Frequency Converter FDU 2.0 (VFD) represents an advanced solution for controlling
synchronous and asynchronous permanent magnet motors,
offering high integration and maximum
configuration flexibility.

Available in IP54 and IP20/21 versions, they support power up to 3,000 kW, catering to the needs of both industrial and Marine Power Solutions applications. The IP54 version, characterised by its robust steel construction, allows for direct installation in operational environments, reducing the need for electrical cabinets, optimising space, and minimising motor cable length.

Another distinctive feature of the Emotron FDU 2.0 is its ability to operate in extreme environmental conditions, with temperatures of up to 55°C, ensuring reliable performance and long operational life.

REVCON FILTERS: SOLUTIONS FOR ELECTRICAL NETWORK QUALITY ONBOAR

The importance of Onboard Electrical Systems quality is increasingly central in the yachting sector, where
non-linear loads, such as those generated by standard 6-pulse frequency converters (VFDs), can cause
significant voltage distortion.

This phenomenon can negatively impact onboard electrical systems, compromising the functioning of transformers, capacitor banks, and rotating equipment, as well as increasing energy consumption and reducing the lifespan of components. To address these issues, MADS, in collaboration with the German company Revcon, offers advanced solutions for Harmonic Filter Technology.

The product portfolio includes passive, active, and hybrid filters, designed to ensure high efficiency and
compliance with international standards, such as IEEE 519-2014.

RHF-HYBRID FILTERS: THE PERFECT COMBINATION OF PASSIVE AND ACTIVE TECHNOLOGIES

Revcon’s latest innovation is the RHF-Hybrid range, which combines the benefits of passive and active
technologies while eliminating their drawbacks. The design allows for the reduction of main harmonic
distortion
through a circuit similar to the RHF-8P, while the active module fine-tunes compensation and
optimises reactive power management at partial load.
Thanks to these solutions, Revcon and MADS
contribute to improving Megayacht Energy Efficiency and the reliability of onboard electrical systems,
ensuring compliance with regulations and greater operational safety.
