The Dutch shipyard Damen has recently launched its latest 55.3-metre support vessel, named New Frontiers, following the 69.15-metre Game Changer, which was launched earlier this year.

New Frontiers is expected to be completed by September 2017, and she will be debuted at the next edition of the Monaco Yacht Show.

New Frontiers provides accommodation for up to six guests across three cabins including a main deck owner’s suite.  The vessel offers a generous lounge and dining area and an impressive 50 sqm sundeck, allowing for luxurious living onboard during expeditions away from the mothership.

Among the amenities onboard New Frontiers, there are a helipad, an adventure centre aft featuring large stores, a dive centre, and an A-frame installation to launch and retrieve personal submersibles.

As for her performance, New Frontiers can reach a top speed of 20 knots with a range of 5,000 nm.

Rose Damen, Damen Commercial Director, so commented upon the new support vessel: “New Frontiers is ripping up the rule book. It’s still a yacht support vessel, but you can’t put this vessel into one category or another – and that reflects exactly the wishes of our clients. They want their holiday to be about freedom and spontaneity – New Frontiers makes that possible. Whether it’s a weekend dive adventure trip away from their superyacht or enjoying two locations at once linked by helicopter, it’s all about unforgettable experiences and freedom.”

Damen Product Director Mark Vermeulen continues: “A Yacht Support vessel offers superyacht owners more luxury yachting fun than ever, but at a much lower total cost of ownership than acquiring more capability with a larger yacht. Plus, they get all the benefits of flexible operations, straightforward maintenance and privacy.”
