Abitare il Mare, a thematic area dedicated to the world of design for yachts and ships, will be part of Seatec 2017. Successfully presented  in previous editions of the event, the project will now include competitions whose aim is to discover changes in the habits  and lifestyles of the yachting world.

The Abitare il Mare area will showcase the latest luxury  furniture components, displaying the best forms of innovation and experimentation through design, technology, new materials and sustainability.

Both Seatec and Abitare il mare are sponsored for the first time by ADI – Association for Industrial Design, which will organise various initiatives, such as the awarding of a prize for the best design product. The prize will consist in the free insertion in the ADI design Index  and the resulting contextual nomination for “Il Compasso D’Oro” Award, the most important design award in the world.

The MYDA – Millennium Yacht Design Award will present new projects of professional designers and beginners in the field; within the jury of MYDA, for the first time there will be a Special Commission established by Quasar Design University: the winner of the project selected by the Quasar commission will be awarded a scholarship for the participation at the Master in Yacht Design, which will be held at QDU in the academic year 2017/2018, guaranteeing coverage of 50% of the participation fee due for the Master. In line with this year’s topic, this edition of MYDA will also include the category ‘Disability on board’.

The traditional Qualitec Technology and Qualitec Design Awards will also take place, competitions reserved to exhibitors for technological innovation and for furniture items that best contribute to the needs of life on board.

Abitare il Mare will also provide the opportunity to attend B2B meetings, aimed to  help them establish beneficial relationships with highly qualified buyers.

The area Wellness on Board, dedicated to the world of wellness, will finally complete the offer of the area, proposing companies and services for high quality of life on board.
