Matteo Miceli e il compagno sono costretti a rimanere sulla rete del catamarano ad aspettare i soccorsi. Grazie alla cerata Musto, sponsor degli atleti, Miceli e Picciolini riescono a mantenere elevata la temperatura corporea, salvandosi. Un brutto incidente capitato proprio in mezzo all’oceano Atlantico, dove le raffiche di vento fortissime hanno fatto scuffiare il catamarano, causando la rottura dell’albero. Gli skipper sono così rimasti tutta la notte nelle acque gelide e burrascose dell’oceano Atlantico, con un vento che soffiava a 30 nodi e la barca scuffiata a 180°.
