Setec: Electromechanical Actuation Systems

Share:

Setec manufactures electromechanical actuators of various sizes for lifting bow lights on yachts with LOA > 50 m, windows, doors, glazing, seats, hatches, garage doors, tenders, etc.

The function of the company’s products is basically to move an element of the boat: from the simple cockpit on the flybridge to the complete movement of the limousine tender (8-10 m) inside the garage to haul it and to launch it, also performing the function of opening and closing the hatch and including the safety chests. These solutions contribute to a high level of yacht automation.

Technological Innovation and Sustainability

Setec’s products are all fully electromechanical, i.e. oil-free systems and thus without the pipes, fittings and powerpacks. They have the following environmental sustainability advantages:

NO OIL that can pollute in the event of leaks, spilling in some cases directly into the sea;
NO OIL that can damage the boat (typically the teak around it) in the event of leaks or spills, with potential risks of fire on board;
NO OIL which involves expensive and bulky hydraulic wiring and a dedicated powerpack unit;
NO OIL implying a higher overall weight;
NO OIL therefore a solution with controllable and programmable movements, which can dialogue with the ship system, representing a true hydraulic alternative.

Electromechanical systems also have much shorter installation times, mainly due to the reduced number of components for the same function and significantly reduced wiring, compared to hydraulic systems.
Setec’s innovation reflects the shift towards sustainable marine technology, combining performance, reliability and ecological responsibility.
