VSTEP_ROC_NH_002Another maritime school, the Nautical College in Den Helder, Netherlands, is installing a state-of-the-art equipment of simulators from VSTEP  to provide a more realistic training to its students.
VSTEP, a Dutch based leading international developer of simulators and virtual training software, creates 3D virtual training applications and simulators that allow people to build their skills in a practical and cost effective way, all in several fields among which the maritime.
ROC Kop van Noord-Holland has purchased a full simulator centre, including three NAUTIS DNV Class B simulators, three NAUTIS Desktop Pro simulators with instructor station and a full Engine Room simulator classroom with 15 trainee stations. With the addition of the ship bridge simulators, the Nautical College will enable its students to learn, practice and perfect new ship and boat handling skills through certified training courses in accordance with the latest national and international standards.
To maximize students training in different environments, three new custom environments were added to the existing simulator library. The new environments include the Wadden Islands, the North Holland Coastline and the NIOZ Port, all digitally recreated for use in the simulators.
The engine room simulator classroom will help students to get used to the engines on board, train with different engine configurations and teach them to solve related problems through accurate simulation.
