nikataThe new sailing yacht by Baltic Yachts, the 115’ Nikata, has been awarded the International Superyacht Society 2016 Design Award in the category Best Sail 24-40m.
Nikata features Nauta Design exterior styling and interior design, Judel/Vroljik & Co. naval architecture, hull and waterlines design (carried out thanks to VPP studies), built by Baltic Yachts, a famous Finnish shipyard specialized in hi-tech carbon construction. The team, who also recently worked in partnership for the 116-feet blue-water cruiser Doryan, came up with this stunning racing sailing yacht, the third Nauta Design project to be built by Baltic Yachts.
Built for an experienced yachtsman boasting many high-profile regatta wins, Nikata has been designed as an innovative and competitive yacht with winning potential. Her relative light displacement of 88 tons, a powerful sail plan and remarkable stability thanks to a lifting keel that extends from 3.65m to 5.85m, ensure an impressive performance. Her low and streamlined deckhouse is the latest definition of the shape of a performance racer/cruisers.
Nikata offer amenities usually found on larger luxury yachts. The generous saloon is flooded with light thanks to large top and side windows. A fully equipped bar area and a comfortable chill-out/TV area for recovering are available onboard for relaxing after racing.
Accommodation is provided across a large owner’s cabin and three spacious guest cabins. Crew areas are composed of a functional galley, a double cabin for the captain, two more cabins and crew mess. All crew and operational areas are located aft to keep crew and guests area separate.
When not racing, owners and guests can enjoy a comfortable sunbed areas and a fold-out stern platform, engineered and designed by Nauta to incorporate a wide set of steps along with a swimming area so that guests can reach the main deck and large cockpit with ease.
