“We are pleased to welcome one of the most prestigious brands in the field of nautical components – comments the President Gerolamo Bianchi. – This collaboration fully reflects the aims of our Club which has its main mission in the spread of sailing sport, but which is also engaged in many activities connected with pleasure craft, navigation and with the all activities tied with them“.
History and technology combined
The collaboration between YCI and B&G – that’s part of the Navico Group, parent company also of the Lowrance, Simrad and C-Map brands – combines the history and tradition of Italian sailing with the state of the art of technology and electronics to the sea.
“We are very happy to start this path as technical partner of the Italian Yacht Club, – says Roberto Sesenna, at the helm of Navico Italia and Director of Sales Southern Europe & Emea Boat Builders – The Genoese Club is synonymous with sea culture in the world iand has a profound affinity with our historic brand, which has always been at the side of sailors and boaters“.
The partnership will focus on different areas and activities. Among these, support in sports activities (such as personalized support for crews) and in regattas with the presence of a team dedicated to ground handling and instrument calibration. The group will be present with its systems in the various areas of the Club, first of all, thanks to the installation of sophisticated weather stations interfaced with two repeater totems, in the Genoa and Portofino offices.
These data, in digital form, will then also be on the home page of the website www.yachtclubitaliano.it.
B&G will also be on board the social vessels, both for the boats normally ‘at service’ during the regattas and for the Club’s sailing hulls engaged in regattas and cruises in the Mediterranean, with the most sophisticated electronic equipment.
There will also be activities and events dedicated to members, sailors and not. Special initiatives will finally be dedicated to fishing and the motor world, aimed at making all the expertise of the Navico Group and its brands available to the club.
