Since 1923, Spriano®, a Terranova® brand, has been offering a wide range of process instrumentation for the measurement of variables such as pressure, level, and temperature, used in the petrochemical, chemical, and pharmaceutical sectors.

SAFE SMART PRESSURE TRANSMITTERS

In particular, the SST56 series offers intrinsically safe smart pressure transmitters with Exia certification and SIL2 approval.

The transmitters can be configured locally via 4 push buttons and can display the measurement on the large LCD display, remotely via a universal Hand Held (HHT), or via PC.
The transmitters – complete with sealing diaphragm with wetted parts in SS AISI 316, Hastelloy C276, Tantalum, Monel and other special alloys – measure relative pressure measurement with ranges from 0.022 to 1,000 bar, and the pressure measuring element is a piezoresistive or ceramic sensor.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

Among the salient features of this microprocessor transmitter, the wide range of values and the automatic compensation of the measurement for the entire temperature range are highlighted. The nominal accuracy is less than 0.1%, including non-linearity, repeatability, and hysteresis errors, and can be as low as 0.075% on request.

Also available in the Ex-D explosion-proof version SST76, these transmitters are particularly suitable for installations in environments with hostile atmospheres, allowing the measurement of relative, absolute, or barometric pressure.

The most common applications include:

  • the measurement of the pressure of liquids, gases, and vapors;
  • the measurement up to extremely high pressures (1000 bar) for upstream areas;
  • the pressure control of gas pipes;
  • the measurement of vacuum in food applications and autoclaves;
  • the measurement of the level in storage plants with remote display of the variables;
  • the measurement of the level of open tanks.

The production of industrial sensors like diaphragm seals can instead be finished in AISI316, special alloys, and gold to allow applications on corrosive fluids, at pressures over 400 bar, and temperatures of 400°C.

Yachting in Romania: a modernising market on the Black Sea

The Romanian boating industry is undergoing a gradual transformation, driven by investments in infrastructure, marina development and growing interest in recreational boating and sailing activities. While historically yachting in Romania was considered a niche sector with limited accessibility, the market is now evolving into one of the emerging areas of the Black Sea yachting industry.

A sector undergoing modernisation

Yachting in Romania, which is mainly concentrated around Constanta and other Black Sea resorts, is likely to grow in the future. At present, yachting is mainly seen as a sporting discipline, but the evolution of Nautical Tourism and the increasing interest in Yachting Romania suggest a broader development.
