The period of frantic activity for Benetti continues: last week the ancient tradition of the “coin ceremony” marked the start of construction work on FB285, the 67-metre custom yacht with a steel hull and aluminium superstructure.

The ceremony was held at Carpensalda’s shipyard in Pisa, where FB285’s hull was started. The outfitting of the yacht will be performed at Benetti’s shipyard in Livorno and she will be launched during the second half of 2022.

Features of Benetti FB285

The elegant, balanced exterior lines that accentuate the yacht’s exterior are designed by Giorgio M. Cassetta, while the interiors are custom tailored to the Client’s brief by AskDeco with the support of Benetti’s Interior Style Department.

Characterised by excellent functionality, FB285 is a sophisticated yacht with a rich personality, offering the very highest level of comfort in welcoming and pratical settings where the rationalisation of space has played a leading role in the design process. The layout is highly tailored to satisfy the Owners’ requirements of outstanding liveability to be able to spend long periods on board.

Based on the evolution of the FB284 naval platform, the design of FB285 also benefits from the latest developments in glass engineering. The new yacht, like the multiple award-winning M/Y “Metis”, will also develop the theme of “circular windows”, interpreted here on a much larger scale on the Main and Lower Decks. In particular, the generously sized dining area on the Main Deck will be bathed in natural light through two 2 metre diameter windows on each side.

Design flexibility

This new 67-metre custom yacht confirms the extent of Benetti’s design flexibility and construction capabilities, the result of over a century of tradition and history.

Designing and building yachts by interpreting our customers desires drives us to find always original and functional solutions, it has been an extreme pleasure do so for these specific Owners,” said Sebastiano Fanizza, Benetti Chief Commercial Officer.

Giorgio M. Cassetta commented: “The clear ideas and the personal wishes of the owners played a leading role in this project. I was fascinated by the suggestions they gave us, with careful attention to detail dictated by great experience, thanks to which we will create a yacht with an unmistakable design”.
