Extension to October 1, 2025 for Marine Electric Motor Bonus

The Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy has granted an extension until October 1, 2025, for submitting applications to access incentives aimed at promoting the purchase of electric marine motors for pleasure boating, in case of scrapping internal combustion engines.

The new deadline for applications is set at 12:00 PM on October 1, 2025.

This incentive is open both to owners of registered pleasure boats (including voluntarily registered small vessels) and to unregistered small boats, and is established by Article 13 of Law No. 206 dated December 27, 2023.

The procedures, submission methods, and required documentation remain the same as those established by the Directive Decree of March 11, 2025, through the Invitalia online portal (the managing body for the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy).

For unregistered small boats, instead of a navigation license, the vessel is identified through the DCI – Declaration of Construction or Import, issued electronically by Confindustria Nautica via the portal: https://dci.confindustrianautica.net/.

Applications must be submitted exclusively through the online procedure using SPID authentication, and applicants must have an active certified email address (PEC). Applicants may delegate the application process to a natural person via a proxy granted with a substitute declaration of notoriety.

Individuals can submit only one application for the incentive, which may concern the purchase of a maximum of two electric motors. If the applicant is a business owning pleasure boats used for commercial purposes, the application may concern multiple motors.

The incentives are granted as non-repayable grants covering up to 50% of eligible expenses, with a maximum amount of €8,000 for individuals and up to €50,000 for companies.

Within the established limits, the contribution for each single outboard electric motor with integrated battery and power between 0.5 kW and 12 kW is €2,000, while for outboard motors with external battery, inboard, stern drive, or POD systems, the contribution is €10,000. The granted incentives are paid in a single instalment after the full completion of the purchase.

Confindustria Nautica has prepared an informative note to assist with the application process, which can be done with the help of a trusted dealer.
